Events Officer - Role Profile
Plymouth is one of the country’s major cities, proud of its naval and commercial heritage and ambitious in its plans for the future. The City Council is committed to growth and making sure our economy continues to strengthen, so that as Britain’s ocean city we are a leading destination of choice for both commerce and visitors.
As part of the Plymouth Visitor plan, we run a variety of events including the British Firework Championships, Armed Forces Day and Food Festivals to provide a high quality, distinctive experience for visitors and local people. In 2020, Plymouth will be celebrating the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower. As part of these commemorations we will be delivering a new series of spectacular major events.
The Events Officer role involves organising and leading such as Flavour Fest, Pirate Weekend, Remembrance Sunday and the Christmas Market, as well as supporting the management and delivery of the major events programme.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and well organised person with experience of managing events including event safety. If you think you can make your mark by working closely with partners and want to make a difference then we would welcome your application.
