Aborist - Role profile

We are seeking a self-motivated, highly competent and experienced arborist to join the Arboriculture team in PCC’s Street Scene department which has the responsibility to promote, manage and enhance Plymouth City Council’s tree estate in a manner that delivers maximum benefits for people and nature.

This role, as part of the arboriculture team, is responsible for providing and developing a high standard of arboriculture practices across the city, covering all aspects of tree surgery, ensuring that all safety and legal regulations concerning high risk practices and the use of specialist equipment are met, safeguarding the public in high risk areas.

This will involve the dismantling large trees and working in confined areas and needs to deliver a quality service to residents and ensuring that the PCC tree estate plays a significant role in responding to the climate emergency and enabling the sustainable growth of the City.

The role will be responsible for working in line with the Council’s operational activities and in accordance with environmental legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice and Health and Safety Guidelines.
