Learning Facilitator (The Box) Role Profile
The Box is an ambitious cultural organisation in Plymouth. It is part museum, gallery and archive, and a social space for art, people and objects. Through our blend of historic collections and contemporary exhibitions, we support people to be creative and curious about the world around them, reimagining the future through the past.
We are recruiting learning facilitators to join our team to support the development and delivery of our school and family programmes.
In this role your main responsibilities will be to prepare, deliver and evaluate workshops and events providing an engaging and relevant learning experience to students (aged 5-16 years) and families from diverse and wide ranging backgrounds.
We are looking for people with experience of delivering creative learning activities with children and young people in and outside of the classroom (for example in a museum, gallery or other cultural setting) and experience of working with young people from at least one audience group (for example Early Years, Primary or Secondary school children). Particular specialisms we would be interested in include the arts, history, science and expertise in facilitating SEND sessions.
You will need to be a creative and adaptable individual who shares our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and is passionate about using the Box’s collections to provide an inspiring and empowering learning experiences.

Our Learning Facilitator team are contracted for 34 hours each year. This covers bi-monthly meetings, communication and essential training for the role. Learning Facilitators are then paid to deliver school or family sessions according to demand and availability. As such, we are seeking applicants who are available for a minimum of 6 hours a week in term-times to support our schools programme and with the flexibility to accommodate school holiday and weekend working (which will be agreed in advance) to deliver our family programme.
Please note that this is a fixed term contract to March 2026.
