Senior Collections and Exhibitions Officer Role Profile
The Box’s mission is to be a social space for art, people and ideas with learning, participation and artistic excellence at its heart. We are a new hybrid cultural organisation – part museum, gallery and archive.
This dynamic senior role within The Box team is central to our plans to develop an integrated approach to collections management and the delivery of The Box’s ambitious programme. From collections care and people management to the development and delivery of high-quality temporary exhibitions and permanent gallery redisplays, this role is fast-paced and exciting.
We’re looking for a specialist with in-depth knowledge and experience in collections management and exhibition delivery. You will have a detailed understanding of best practice in the sector and champion innovative and progressive approaches in this area. Working as a senior member of the Collections team, you will bring skills in planning, collaboration and people management. You’ll be supported by a wider team who are skilled and ambitious. We want to use The Box’s collections to generate pride, promote public participation and become nationally known and locally loved. Following more than five years of critically acclaimed programming, we are hungry to grow our audiences and reputation and reimagine what a new hybrid cultural organisation can be in the 21st century. So, if you are full of ideas and skilled at sharing them, we would love to hear from you.
For all enquiries about the role please contact Rebecca Bridgman, Head of Collections and Programme on rebecca.bridgman2@plymouth.gov.uk.
We are anticipating holding a general information session in late July for prospective candidates, so please do contact us to express an interest in joining. In addition, we are happy to answer any specific questions directly, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
