N1463A - Crematorium Technician - Role Profile
Plymouth City Councils Bereavement Service has an exciting opportunity for a Crematorium Technician to join us at Plymouth Crematorium at The Park. The post holder will act as a member of a small team and contribute to the delivery of cremations, front of house duties, attending scatterings, burials and other linked services.
The individual will need to be flexible in their approach and working hours, suitably dressed and presentable in line with a Bereavement Service environment. Excellent Customer service skills are key to this role when there is a need to liaise with bereaved families, visitors and other stakeholders in a sensitive, professional and tactful manner. The post holder must be able to communicate with empathy, sensitivity, tact and professionalism.
The Crematorium Technician Training Scheme (CTTS), Certificate of Technical Competence (COTC) for Crematorium Technicians or equivalent is desirable, or you will need to undertake this qualification within 12 months. Once trained the individual will need to ensure all aspects of the Cremation Code of Practice and all other legislative requirements are followed. The includes the identity of the deceased is maintained throughout the cremation process also keeping accurate records of cremations and identification of cremated remains.
