As a Support & Research Assistant you would be working within the centre of the organisation and support the provision of data and research for the Chief Executive Office, providing a professional service for a wide variety of officers, councillors and partners.

The post also includes working closely with councillors with a particular focus on Councillor training and development, induction for new councillors and coordination of their ward casework.

Executive Office, including Policy and Intelligence, Communications, Democratic Support, the Civic Support Office, Performance and Executive Support. So, no day is the same and there will be plenty of opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills.

You must have GCSE A* - C/(9-4) or equivalent in Maths and English, or NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration. You should be a good organiser with ability to prioritise and work on own initiative, have experience of facilitating meetings and of using ICT including Excel to analyse, interpret and research data and information.Excellent customer service skills, problem-solving, negotiation and planning are also essential.
