Parenting Programme Facilitator - Role Profile

 

Plymouth Information, Support and Advice for SEND provides information and support for all parents and carers who have concerns about their child’s education, development and wellbeing, but with a particular focus on those whose children have special educational needs. We encourage good working relationships and best practice in information exchange between parents, schools, Plymouth City Council and many other agencies. We also offer training courses for groups of parents and professionals and deliver evidence-based parenting programmes across the city.

 

We are looking for two energetic and enthusiastic people to join our dedicated team. Your focus will be the planning and delivery of evidence-based parenting programmes, namely ‘The Incredible Years’ and ‘Strengthening Families Programme 10-14 (UK)’. You will need to have recent and substantial experience of delivering structured programmes to groups of parents and carers, and should already be a trained facilitator for either IY or SFP (training in the programmes may be available for candidates that can demonstrate significant experience of delivering other evidence based programmes). We are looking for people with excellent communication skills (sometimes dealing with very complex and demanding issues) and a knowledge and understanding of recent legislation and guidance documents on Children’s Services, SEN and Early Intervention work.
