We are seeking a new Director for Children’s Services to lead the next stage of our journey. Our ambition is to be outstanding, with children and young people feeling safe, supported and able to thrive and reach their full potential.

You will be the statutory DCS and a key member of the corporate management team, contributing to the governance of the whole council, leading on cross cutting issues along with children’s social care, early help, education, SEND and skills. We are rightly proud of our partnership working both with the city and the DfE in establishing a new model of education partnership through place-based initiatives. We have an ambitious growth agenda and addressing the skills shortages for this is vital.

You will offer substantial leadership experience, an understanding of what outstanding looks like and the determination to take us there.
