Admissions Officer Role Profile

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the School Admissions Team for a permanent, full time Admissions Officer.

This is a key role undertaking administrative functions in relation to school admissions requests with a view to the timely placement of children into an appropriate school in accordance with parental preference and regulations relating to school admissions. You will also be required to manage and present statistics in this field when required.

This is an extremely busy service and you must be a highly motivated and well organised person with well developed interpersonal skills to liaise with other agencies including schools, Councillors and Social Services, offering advice and guidance on school admission policies. You may attend school events where you will provide information on admission processes to parents.

You will be required to work under your own initiative but will be supported by the School Admissions Support Manager. You will be expected to demonstrate experience of working within an environment dealing with administrative support and will need experience of dealing with members of the public, knowledge of primary and secondary school admission arrangements in Plymouth or a similar local authority, proficiency in Microsoft Office software, creating and working with databases and spread sheets.
