Out of Hours Social Worker

Plymouth Out of Hours Service (OOH) has a part time permanent vacancy for an experienced Social Worker who is willing and suitable to train as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) or an existing AMHP who has an interest in crisis intervention generic social work.

Plymouth OOH is a busy emergency duty social care team, working closely with vulnerablechildren and adult service users who are in crisis. We have a strong focus on safeguarding andpreventative work, making high quality and creative interventions in a timely and cost effectiveway.

This work is challenging and you will be expected to perform to a high standard, under pressure. You will enjoy support and guidance from a friendly and experienced team of colleagues and 24 hour support from the team manager. You will receive regular, structured professional supervision and enjoy frequent professional development opportunities.

To apply for this post you must be a qualified social worker with a minimum two years post qualifying front line experience of child protection and/or adult safeguarding work. If you already hold an AMHP qualification this will be a distinct advantage.

Your hours of work will be defined by a seven-week recurring rota, inclusive of annual leave and bank holiday entitlements, and you will be required to work evenings, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays, including lone working after midnight.
