CS/1258 Lead for School Improvement
£54,448 - £58,317

Windsor House Permanent 37 hours per week Grade L (£55,945 to £59,921)

Lead for School Improvement Role Profile

Plymouth has a great environment in which to live; flanked by sea and moor with a rich history, culture and social opportunities.

There are some excellent schools and settings, strong, effective partnerships and creative, integrated solutions to complex issues. However too many children do not achieve well and leave school without the qualifications and skills they need to move on to their next destination.

Educational standards in schools are high priority for PCC and we are looking for a new Lead for School Improvements to work alongside colleagues to build positive relationships with schools and tackle issues through partnership.

Our educational services are being redesigned to embed the LA within the system as a leader and to ensure that support and challenge to schools improves performance and builds sustainable school to school support.

You will be joining us at the start of an emerging citywide plan for education and will be instrumental in building on former strengths and addressing challenges. The post is a newly established, permanent leadership role.

The role was created to bring a better focus to the integration of work with schools, the DFE and the Teaching School Council. The Plymouth Education Board has gathered momentum and in July 2019 a Standards Partnership was created to cohere support for schools in the city and build capacity in the school to school support system.

In this role you will embed our approach to how we monitor, support and challenge our educational landscape across all phases of learning.

If you have proven experience at a senior level in an educational setting and can build positive relationships with a wide range of partners this is a role that offers you the potential to extend your expertise and add real value to our senior education team.

Please note this position is not suitable for job share.

The Disclosure & Barring Service Check requirement for this post is: Standard
