Burial and Grounds Team Leader

 

Plymouth City Councils Bereavement Service have an exciting opportunity to supervise and lead a staff group who contribute to the delivery of burial, cremation , memorial, grounds maintenance and other infrastructure functions within the Councils cemeteries and closed churchyard. Within Plymouth there are four cemeteries, four closed churchyards and two crematoria.

 

Work will involve planning in the short to medium term and managing day to day onsite resources to deliver an excellent customer service. There is a need for planning and coordination of burials and cremations, developing a grounds maintenance plan and other grounds maintenance activities. Also providing assurance to the Bereavement Service management team that health, safety and wellbeing procedures are being followed.  

 

There will also be the need to support the team as we move to Plymouths new purpose built crematorium for the city. Being change ready, with an eye on the horizon to anticipate opportunities and challenges and able to adapt and flex as necessary.

 

The Team Leader will play a pivotal role as part of the Bereavement service management team with work planning and ensuring delivery of our health, safety and wellbeing programme.  

 

A relocation package may be available to candidates that live further than 50 miles way.
