N950 Crematorium & Cemetery Technician

The Bereavement Service is a small team operating within the Office of the Director of Public Health Directorate providing Burial, Cremation and Memorialisation facilities at the cities 2 Crematoria and 4 cemeteries.

We are committed to providing the highest level of customer service to our bereaved families.

We are seeking to appoint a Crematorium & Cemetery Technician to join the team.

The successful applicant must be hardworking, reliable, flexible and of smart appearance.

You must also have practical skills and be able to deal sensitively with bereaved families.

You will need to have had previous Grounds Maintenance experience and be experienced in the use of excavators.

Duties include - Grave Digging, Cemetery Maintenance, grass cutting and general gardening at all sites.

Duties include within the crematorium include preparation of the chapel and grounds before the service.

Carrying out daily, weekly and monthly maintenance of the cremation equipment and ensuring records are accurate and up to date.

These duties will provide experience and training towards obtaining certification to operate the cremators.

This is a physically demanding role.

You should have excellent communication skills, IT skills and have the ability to work as part of a team and independently.

You must hold a Full driving licence.
