Residential Support Worker Role Profile

An exciting opportunity has now become available for 3 x Residential Support Workers 25.0 hours positions (hours negotiable) to join our friendly team.  

 

Whether you are new to care and would like to start a new rewarding career and have a willingness to learn and develop new skills or are already experienced and would like to further your career this is the role for you.  

 

You will be fully supported in your new role and will be provided with a comprehensive induction as well as ongoing training, personal development and career progression opportunities.  

 

Colwill Lodge provides quality short break/respite services for adults with learning disabilities and their carers living in Plymouth and its surrounding areas.  

 

The service is committed to ensuring appropriate standards of care and support are maintained, in accordance with the Care Quality Commission’s Fundamental Care Standards and associated legislative requirements.

 

We are passionate about providing high quality care and support for a range of people with differing health and social care support needs.  The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be a kind, patient and understanding, as well as upholding our caring and person centred values. This includes the need for dignity, respect, and sensitivity when supporting our customers.

 

Candidates must be self-motivated, organised, have the ability to work independently and also as part of a team and actively contribute to a positive work culture.  

 

Key responsibilities include supporting individuals with personal care tasks. As well as assisting customers to undertake social and community activities to support the promotion of choice and the development of daily independent living skills and positive risk taking.  

 

The post also includes undertaking some administrative tasks, including assisting with the updating of care plans, accurately recording daily observations and contributing to the completion of risk assessments.

 

The role also includes developing and sustaining professional relationships with carers and relevant health and social care professionals.
