Vacancy Description Midland House Permanent 37 per week, Grade F (£26,317 - £28,785)

The Adolescent Support Team (AST) is a brand new team within Targeted Support that will work with some of the most complex and vulnerable young people on the edge of entering, or have just entered, care. The AST will provide a timely and intensive targeted intervention that is coordinated and focussed on the young person and family, reducing risks and improving relationships to support Children and Young People (CYP) remaining/ returning home.

Key principles of how the AST will deliver support will include:-
- Relationship based practice with and between agencies and with families;
- ‘Whole Family’ approaches; responding to the child’s needs/ behaviours as well parental capacity and wider social / economic factors;
 - Trauma Informed and Restorative Practice embedded within the approach to supporting CYP and families;
 - Multi-disciplinary approaches; access to a range of disciplines skilled in bringing about change with adolescents and within families;
 - Evidence – based methods; ways of working shown to improve outcomes for children on the edge of care.

Applicants need to be IT literate, have excellent communication and negotiation skills, and be flexible, persuasive and persistent alongside having an ability to work well under pressure. Applicants who have knowledge and direct experience of supporting CYP at risk of Child Exploitation (CE) would be welcome. Applicants will be required to work both within the family’s homes and out in the community and work to a rota within the Plymouth Book hours (8am – 8pm, Monday – Saturday).
