Senior Officer (Safer Communities) Role Profile

 

Community Connections is a multi-disciplinary team, working across localities, with and in communities, creating a relationship with residents so that they are encouraged and supported to be proactive with ours and other services, thus feeling more engaged and empowered to make sustainable changes.

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for making a difference.

 

Our Senior Community Connections Officers in the Safer Communities Team are responsible for holding and managing a complex caseload which requires more specialist knowledge and experience around Community Safety, Community Engagement, Crime Prevention and early intervention.

 

Senior Community Connections Officers are required to work with a range of partners, using a Trauma Informed approach to ensure communities and individuals are able to live and work in communities free from crime and anti-social Behaviour, An understanding of Community Safety and a passion for improving the lives of residents is vital.

 

A background in Community Safety and knowledge of the tools and powers within the ASB, Crime and Policing Act 2014 would assist, but excellent communication and observation skills are essential.

 

The successful candidate will be trained and supported into this role which will be co-located in a Police station in the city with our police partners. Due to this co-location the successful applicant will be required to undertake a vetting process.

 

The job is dynamic and interesting and an ability to work well with partners, listen to communities and respond to their needs to make the city safer is essential.

 

This role is not suitable for flexible working due to the needs of the service.
