Administration Support Manager - role profile

An opportunity has arisen to apply for the position of an Administration Support Manager with Services for Children, Young People and Families. This will be an important role supporting the Business Processes and Staff within Services for Children, Young People and Families.

The position is currently temporary for a period of 11 months with the possibility of extension after that.

The Manager’s main responsibility will be to ensure effective and efficient oversight and management of general administrative and reception services. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable experience in supervising staff and effective management of business in a fast paced environment.

The successful candidate will line manage around 13 clerical staff in all of their personnel functions and be proactive in undertaking other tasks including management projects and reports, as required to support the smooth running of the Service.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following essential criteria:

• NVQ 4 Business administration or BTEC in Business or Finance Administration or equivalent area/qualification or higher qualification.
• Up to date knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages including EXCEL.
• GCSE (grade A*-C) or equivalent in Maths and English.
• Understanding of information security and data protection.
• Experience of working in a customer facing environment.
• Experience of working in a clerical or administrative capacity
• Experience of working with financial systems.
• Experience of working in a team.

We are looking for an individual who is able to operate effectively when faced with challenging circumstances and is confident communicating with staff at all levels. They will have an analytical mind with a strong attention to detail and ability to quality assure their work and the work of others.
