The
Registration Service is looking for an enthusiastic individual with good
communication and customer care skills to join our busy team of
registrars. A general knowledge and understanding of registration
legislation and processes is required with the ability to meet the statutory
requirements and responsibilities of the post.
Experience of working in the Registration
Service is desirable and applicants must demonstrate
that they are able to work on their own initiative, have a proven track record
of delivering excellent customer service, good communication skills and the
ability to work in an ever changing environment.
The successful
applicants will need to be able to take on this role in a time of significant
change within the department and will need to demonstrate high levels of
accuracy and people skills.
The successful candidate will be registering
births, deaths and stillbirths and taking notices of marriage and civil
partnership.
You will be providing a service to people from
all backgrounds in what can be emotional situations, you must feel comfortable
and be assertive to provide a professional service whilst always displaying
empathy.
Accurate data inputting skills are important
and experience of using spreadsheets will be advantageous, along with knowledge
of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
The
applicant will have the ability to work accurately and calmly under pressure.
A flexible approach is essential. The
role is Monday to Friday and you will be required to work Saturdays on a rota.
