Service Manager Role Profile

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager for Children’s Social Work Service, working with children and families.

 

We are seeking a motivated individual with a commitment to restorative practices, trauma informed approaches and a passion for delivering outstanding services for children and their families.

 

As a Service Manager, you will provide expert and detailed advice to the Head of Service and Service Director on a range of matters associated with your role. At the heart of everything you do, will be an ambition to ensure that children, young people and their families achieve positive change, improved outcomes and are effectively safeguarded.

 

You will lead, motivate and inspire others to deliver the best standards of practice, including leading your team of managers. You will bring to the role considerable management and/or leadership experience, including managing budgets. Where you have not been a budget holder, you will be able to persuade that you have transferable skills that will enable you to become confident in this area.

 

You will be able to talk in interview about your experience of managing and motivating teams to achieve significant service improvements and improved outcomes for children and young people.

 

As an individual, you will embrace change as an opportunity for innovation and will have a track record in performance gains.

 

You will have experience in public and private law proceedings and excellent communication skills.

 

You will be able practice with confident authority in relation to key aspects for safeguarding children, ensuring that statutory guidance is followed.

 

You will be currently registered with Social Work England as a qualified social worker.

 

You will be committed to developing staff at all levels to have the skills they need to be exceptional practitioners and the resilience to thrive in a challenging and rewarding career.
