OIC Junior Attendance Centre - Role profile
The Plymouth Junior Attendance Centre (JAC) is run on Thursday at the Frederick Street Centre from 4 – 7pm. The JAC is designed to deliver a group work programme to young people who have offended or are at risk of offending and to provide opportunities for developing employment-related skills.
This is an exciting opportunity to work for Plymouth Youth Offending Team (PYOT) with a newly integrated programme of work which complements the weekday work delivered to young people by PYOT. As Officer in Charge, you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective management of the JAC, in accordance with the Youth Justice Board’s Operating Model. You will lead the development and delivery of interventions, and will be responsible for 2 members of staff who work at the JAC.
You will hold a professional qualification (e.g. social work, probation) or have significant experience in a criminal justice or social care field. You will be skilled at engaging with children and young people, and you will have significant experience of designing and delivering interventions in a group work setting. Some management experience will be an advantage. This is a part time post for 6 hours per week at an I Grade at an hourly rate of £23.25.
