The Housing Delivery Team (based in the Strategic Planning and Infrastructure Department) is looking to appoint an self-motivated, and committed apprentice to join their team. As an apprentice you would have dedicated support including mentoring and coaching from your line manager, team members and training provider.

In this role you will support and assist the Housing Delivery Team in the delivery of housing enabling activities, to maximise the provision of new affordable housing, reduce the number of empty homes, as well as contributing towards the delivery of the Plan for Homes. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a career in either Social Housing, Planning or Local Government generally.

You will carry out a wide range of administrative duties across the Housing Delivery service; this includes support to Housing Delivery Officers with their casework, assisting our monitoring of new affordable housing development in the city, processing of financial transactions such as payment and production of invoices, and dealing with enquiries and communication via telephone and email.

We are looking for someone who is creative with good problem-solving abilities and communication skills, excellent keyboard and IT skills, a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to prioritise their workload.

It would be beneficial if you have had experience of working within a customer environment, or are  committed to providing a high standard of customer service, and has the ability to work flexibly with other teams within our department.

This post requires the applicant to hold GCSEs 4-9 (formerly A*- C) in Maths & English or equivalent.
