Tree Officer Role Profile


We are seeking a self-motivated, highly competent and experienced tree officer to join our Arboriculture team in PCC’s Street Scene department which has the responsibility to promote, manage and enhance Plymouth City Council’s tree estate in a manner that delivers maximum benefits for people and nature.

This role, as part of the arboriculture team, is responsible for inspections of trees, reporting on tree condition and arboricultural work to manage defects, ensuring that all safety and legal regulations are met and safeguarding the public in high risk areas.

This role will have a particular focus on recording and setting out required work to manage the risk of ash trees and will need to work in close collaboration with PCC Environmental Planning and Highways divisions to deliver a quality service to residents and ensuring that the PCC tree estate plays a significant role in responding to the climate emergency and enabling the sustainable growth of the City.
 
The role will be responsible for working in line with the Council’s operational activities and in accordance with environmental legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice and Health and Safety Guidelines.
