Economy Partnership and Regeneration Manager - Role profile

* We welcome applications for job sharing and secondments. If you are applying internally for a secondment, you must be employed on a permanent contract working continuously for 12 weeks or more.  If you are currently on probation, you will be expected to complete your probationary service in the new role.

If you are applying for this role as an internal candidate as a secondment,  your current line manager must also be in agreement with your application (please refer to the Secondment policy for further information).

We are looking for two to three people for a short, big-hitting piece of work to maximise the impact of a programme that empowers businesses who are committed to a “fairer greener future for Plymouth” following the COVID pandemic.

We have been awarded almost £950,000 from the Interreg France, England Channel programme for a 2 year project (to March 2023) to support individuals and businesses in Plymouth. The project is implementing the Resurgam Charter which is being rebranded and empowers our businesses to contribute to delivery of a ‘fairer, greener future for Plymouth’.

We now have over 200 signatories to the Resurgam Charter and more than 10 roundtables addressing key challenges across the Spend, Upskill, Employ, Community and Environment themes.

These roles will lead high energy, big impact programmes to:

1. Engage businesses with the Skills Launchpad Plymouth to create a proactive Employers Hub

2. Integrate Skills Launchpad Plymouth Employers Hub and wider Resurgam Charter activity

3. Use the Charter activity and work of the wider C-Care partnership to implement a Theory of Change programme for Inclusive Growth in Plymouth

As part of the C-Care project, you will be working with 6 partners from France and England, capitalising on previous Interreg projects and making sure that the benefits of economic change are understood and are optimised. The Plymouth City Council team consists of 10 staff and two contractors. There are also partnership-wide evaluation and communications teams. In addition, the Skills Launchpad Plymouth is part of a Skills and Post-16 team of over 40 people.

You will have existing, well developed networks across businesses in Plymouth and be able to demonstrate the skills to innovate, empower and embed new, better ways of working.

Interreg is one of the key instruments of the European Union (EU) supporting cooperation across borders through project funding. Its aim is to jointly tackle common challenges and find shared solutions in fields such as health, environment, research, education, transport, sustainable energy and more.

These roles will be within the Inclusive Economy Team of Plymouth City Council’s Economic Development Department.

This role is suitable for flexible working subject to the needs of the service.

Please contact Anna Peachey, Inclusive Economy Team Manager for an informal chat 01752307840
