PLA/992 - Service Director, Street Services
£75,000 to £105,000

Ballard House Permanent 37 hours per week Salary £75,000 - £105,000 per annum

Service Director, Street Services - Role Profile

With a spectacular waterfront, a nearby National Park and magnificent coastline, Plymouth offers an enviable natural environment to its 260,000 residents, businesses and visitors alike. We have so much more to offer beyond our striking scenery and coastline. We have worked hard to raise our profile – including being recognised as Britain’s coolest small city and leading Mayflower 2020, celebrating 400 years since the sailing of the Mayflower – and are well on our way to realising our vision of becoming one of Europe’s most vibrant waterfront cities.

To support this vision, we seek a talented Service Director for Street Services to lead a busy and complex range of key services across our full street maintenance portfolio, including transport infrastructure and car parking; street scene and grounds maintenance; waste collection and disposal; and frontline commercial operations.

As a key member of the Council’s Senior Management Team, you will work closely with residents, a large and diverse workforce and our key partners to drive service modernisation and effectiveness. With strong commercial acumen and a passion for innovation, you will lead on the strategic development of all street services, inspiring the use of digital technology and capitalising on new income generation initiatives, and developing services to address climate change challenges.

Together, let’s achieve our mission to make Plymouth a fairer city, where everyone does their bit.
