P3n Senior Enforcement Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join Plymouth City Council as a Senior Enforcement Officer in the Licensing Team of the Public Protection Service.
The Licensing team deal with a range of different licences and registrations.
The role involves undertaking the lead officer/specialist enforcement role for alcohol licensing, gambling licensing, charity collections, scrap metal dealers, caravan sites, petroleum, explosives, animal activities and the registration of skin piercers/tattooists. Also, involves providing advice and guidance on all licensing matters to residents, licensees and other responsible authorities.
You will work closely with a range of other agencies to create and maintain a safe environment for the variety of activities that take place, to ensure there is a consistent standard and to enforce the regulations where compliance cannot be achieved by other means.
The successful candidate will be an experienced licensing officer with working knowledge of the range of licensing legislation.
You will need a good understanding of the role of a local authority in administering a licensing function and you will need to be confident in providing advice.
You should have experience of leading on complex investigations (including prosecutions) and project related work.
