EXEC/1008 - Head of Governance, Performance & Risk
£49,491 - £53,472

Ballard House Permanent 37 hours per week Grade K (£49,491 to £53,472)

Head of Governance, Performance & Risk - Role Profile

With a spectacular waterfront, a nearby National Park and magnificent coastline, Plymouth offers an enviable natural environment to its 260,000 residents, businesses and visitors alike. We have so much more to offer than our striking scenery and coastline. We have worked hard to raise our profile – including being recognised as Britain's coolest small city and leading Mayflower 2020, celebrating 400 years since the sailing of the Mayflower – and are well on our way to realising our vision of becoming one of Europe's most vibrant waterfront cities. We care about our residents and the people who work and visit here.

To support this vision, we are seeking a talented Head of Governance, Performance and Risk to support the very heart of democratic decision making at the Council and to ensure that we understand what we do well and where we can do better for our city. The Head of Governance, Performance and Risk will lead a portfolio of responsibilities including democratic support, corporate governance, elected-member development, corporate business planning, key performance indicators and strategic and operational risk management. The role holder will operate at the very interface between senior officers and elected-members, acting as a trusted, objective advisor.

With strong communication skills, an analytical mindset, and compassionate approach to leadership you will promote confidence in the democratic, performance and risk management processes, ensuring that they support, challenge and inform the way in which the Council works for the benefit of the city.

This role is not suitable for job share.
