Data Science Innovation/Planning Officer - Role profile

We are looking to recruit a Data Science/Innovation Planning Officer to play a key role in our multi-award winning Strategic Planning and Infrastructure department.  

The post holder will develop and lead the delivery of a vision for integration, organisation, management and application of the department’s data, including data visualisation, business intelligence (BI) and open data, leveraging value from that data, as well playing a lead and supporting role in modernising the department and the services it provides through digital solutions and innovation, particularly in relation to the following areas:  

- Planning policy monitoring, development and delivery;
- Innovation in urban design, place shaping and sustainable development;
- Site specific evidence, design and delivery, and the wider evidence base of the department;
- Supporting processes relating to the promotion, management and control of development;
- Community engagement;
- Efficiencies and income generation, including through realising opportunities from the commercialisation of data.  

 The post holder will have a degree level qualification in Data Science or other relevant subject to data management and digital innovation and proven experience of project management of data management and digital products of a complex nature.
