Senior Economic Development Officer Role Profile

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Economic Development Officer, working within the Business Relationships and Innovation Team at Plymouth City Council.

 

The primary focus of the role is to increase inward investment activity in the city through supporting businesses and delivering projects which drive economic growth. The role will require you to develop and manage relationships with key businesses in the Plymouth area to provide support and a single liaison point to help them locate, and grow in Plymouth.

 

You will act as an ambassador for the city at key events, this might include public speaking at events. Support the production of inward investment focussed collateral, aid in the maintenance of the Invest Plymouth website, produce regular contributions of content for social media platforms and the fortnightly newsletter. Provide information and guidance to businesses working with key partners and stakeholders to aid navigation through complex needs such as restructuring or business expansion.

 

Ideally, candidates will be experienced in working in economic development focused settings with a good understanding of the drivers of inward investment activity and an ability to collect and process economic data to inform team activity, local policy and growth focused projects.

 

This role is not suitable for flexible working due to the needs of the service.
