The post holder will provide day to day support to the School Transport Team and will predominantly support the Transport Officer responsible for the route planning and monitoring of transport for children with special needs. The team arranges and manages the transport provision for approximately 800 SEND pupils each day on 200 taxis and minibuses.  The post holder will also undertake other aspects of the role profile including processing time sheets, applying changes to staff contracted hours, assisting with organising staff cover, undertaking eligibility checks for free school meals (FSM), checking and processing of invoices/orders/internal recharges and processing of school transport payments and credit notes as required, as well as dealing with a large volumes of telephone calls.   

 

This is an extremely busy service and you will need to be a well organised person with excellent communication and IT skills with the ability to work effectively in a variety of situations with conflicting priorities. The office requires cover from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm and therefore the person appointed will be required to work from 7.00 am on a rota basis during school term time.
