Road Safety Officer Role Profile


Plymouth City Council are looking for a Road Safety Officer to join their Traffic Management Team based at Prince Rock Depot, Plymouth.

Reporting to the Senior Traffic Engineer and supporting the Highway Safety Technician you will promote the Council’s road safety policies and carry out programmes of education, training and publicity aimed at reducing the number and severity of casualties in the City.

You will possess excellent communications skill, both verbal and written and work toward supporting national road safety campaigns at a local level, contributing towards achieving the City Council's casualty reduction targets.

The role will involve both office work and site visits, contact with Councillors and members of the public in the promotion of walking, cycling and other modes of sustainable travel in a safe and healthy environment.
