Ballard House Permanent 37 hours per week Competitive Salary

One of Europe’s most vibrant cities, with an ambition to be outstanding, Plymouth City Council is seeking a senior responsible officer for legal matters to provide advice and guidance to the Council, Members and senior officers.  

A qualified Solicitor and registered to practice law within the UK, you will act as the Council’s Monitoring Officer ensuring that governance arrangements are maintained which encourage high levels of probity and ethical standards.  

You will need up-to-date knowledge of legislation, particularly the Local Government and Housing Act 1989, the Localism Act 2011 and other legislation relating to Local Authorities, substantial leadership experience and experience of deploying commercial and transformational acumen within local government.
