An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Control Officer to join the Building Control Team in Plymouth City.  

 

Plymouth has a diverse range of buildings and coastal topography including the historic waterfront, mixed use commercial, all varieties of residential including HRB’s/student accommodation and volume housing, educational buildings as well as HM Naval Base and a large regional hospital.

 

A comprehensive and structured training programme is offered and funded to support the successful candidate through the LABC validation process together with CPD as we work towards the introduction of the pending Building Safety Bill.  

 

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in Building Control, be proficient in carrying out a variety of site visits, checking plans for compliance with regulations and attending Dangerous Structures. Membership of a professional body such as the COIB, CABE or RICS is also essential.

 

This role is not suitable for flexible working due to the needs of the service.
