Civil Engineer - Role Profile

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated professional Civil Engineer to join our expanding Engineering Design Group within Plymouth City Council.

The team is heavily involved in a number of high profile Major Highway, Drainage, municipal, infrastructure and walking and cycling projects aiming to improve the efficiency of Plymouth’s highway infrastructure and manage flood risk, both of which are essential to the growth of the city.

The Authority already has a five year multi-million transport capital programme and you would be part of the team delivering these projects as well as having the opportunity to develop further projects from their inception through to completion.

Plymouth City Council is a Lead Local Flood Authority and you will have responsibility for discharging Statutory Duties and responsibilities as well having the opportunity to take forward the City Council’s flood risk programme of works.

You will be actively involved in the production of technically sound and cost effective design solutions, technical reports, contract management, procurement and stakeholder engagement.

You will have appropriate qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and be proficient in the use of Autocad and its use for highway infrastructure and drainage design.

You will also have good communication and ICT skills.
