Independant Chair - Role Profile

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Quality Assurance and Safeguarding Service.

The full time worker post will be for a peripatetic Independent Chair.

This role will encompass the role of Independent Chair for Child Protection and Independent Reviewing Officer, the primary role being for the IRO working with the children in care in the city. The post also has quality assurance aspect to the role and will require you to be able to audit and undertake other quality assurance activities as required in order to improve and strengthen practice.

You must have demonstrable post-qualifying experience in a statutory childcare setting. You will need to have a working knowledge of relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989; the IRO Handbook; the Children Act 1989, and the Adoption and Children Act 2002. Applicants must have a recognised Social Work qualification and a demonstrable CPD record to show on-going development and training.
