Limited is committed to paying our lower paid staff in accordance with the
principles underlying the living wage. As the starting pay contractual rate for
this role falls below our current living wage rate of £9.90 per hour, a top up
to that rate will be made on a discretionary basis. The contractual terms and
conditions for this role are unaffected by this. CATERed Limited reserves the
right to stop the discretionary element by giving 4 weeks’ notice.
*Please be aware that there is a minimum age restriction to all CATERed positions of 18 years old. As you would work with industrial machinery this is a legal requirement for insurance purposes.
Situated at one of the busiest and most visible
points in the park next to the natural play area, the café makes the most of
its position within the natural landscape and includes a green (grassed) roof
and outdoor seating.
We are recruiting staff to assist in the running of
the café and ensure that it is welcoming to all with caring, knowledgeable
staff acting as park ambassadors.
Staff will be passionate about customer service,
engaging with the community and supporting users of the park whether they be families,
children and young people, senior citizens groups, dog walkers, commuters or
sports groups.
Duties will include serving from one of the café
hatches a selection of hot and cold drinks, small selection of snacks and ice
cream and completing any start up and clear down processes required. Training
for the positions will be given by the Assistant Catering Manager, the Food,
Beverage & Hospitality Manager and through our bespoke online training
program.
The posts require lone working at times.
Key responsibilities:

Ability to operate an electronic till
-
Assist with stock rotation of food.

Restock, service vending machines
- Accept and store food deliveries.
- Handle small amounts of cash and using contactless till payments.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post
Essential:
-
Catering experience
- Experience of working as part of a team working under pressure to meet
deadlines

Knowledge of Health and Safety practice in a busy working environment

Experience of cleaning areas to agreed hygienic standards
Desirable:
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
Please note this position is not suitable for job share.
On occasion there will be a requirement for applicants to be
called upon for holiday and sickness cover within the unit if you work on bank
holidays this will be paid at the enhanced rate of time and a quarter.
