Facilities Cleaner Role Profile
Plymouth City Council employees and our partners work across various sites across the City.
Facilities Management are responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of these sites. Our cleaning team work to the highest standards to ensure that our buildings are clean, secure and safe for our staff and partners and everyone plays an important part in making this happen.
As a Facilities Cleaner you will be responsible for variety of tasks including mopping, toilet cleaning, washing walls/glass, vacuuming, emptying bins and dusting.
You may be required to open and close buildings dependant on the site you are working. You will also be expected to report and escalate building defects to enable a resolution to be found.
This role will be physically challenging and involves manual handling activities.
Our cleaning team operate in 50 sites across the City working various shift patterns, primarily morning or evenings shifts, Monday to Saturday.
We have 4 vacancies for 14 hours per week. These can be morning, evening and weekend shifts. These positions are likely to be located at The Box in the City Centre.
You will be allocated a primary location but will be expected to work across alternative sites when required. This will be discussed at Interview.

The successful candidate must have basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, COSHH in relation to use of machinery & equipment, working environment and chemicals, Good communication skills and the ability to work across sites or buildings
