Natural Infrastructure Assistant Role Profile

Plymouth City Council Tree Team are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated person to provide support to the Tree Officers in community liaison on tree matters. A core function of the role will be to deal with incoming communications from the Public, local Councillors and other Council Services, dealing with as many as possible at the point of contact and distributing the more complex matters to the wider Tree Team, in addition to aiding with and running community engagement projects.  

The Role will also have a wider function supporting the Tree Team by undertaking site inspections. Training will be given and you will be supported by the Tree Officers as you gain experience and competence. You may have an interest in trees and wider environmental issues and you may or may not hold a relevant environmental qualification.

You should have strong verbal communication and IT skills including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel and you will have worked in a busy customer facing office environment.  

The role will develop over time and you should have an open mind and a willingness to learn new skills in which you will be fully trained. You should be able to work alone and as a part of our Team which has an ethos of mutual respect and support.

This is an ideal role for those looking to start a career within the environmental sector and to gain new skills and knowledge to compliment your existing ones.  

You should hold a full UK Driving License and be prepared to be flexible and adaptable and willing to help us strive to meet the aims of the Plymouth Plan for Trees.
