*Please be aware that there is a minimum age restriction to all CATERed positions of 18 years old. As you would work with industrial machinery this is a legal requirement for insurance purposes.

Are you a vibrant, passionate catering assistant who wants to ensure a healthy attitude to food and has a can do attitude to their role?

CATERed runs the Community Meal Service in Plymouth supplying freshly prepared home cooked meals to customers in their own homes, our production kitchen is a vital service to The Rise at Plympton and needs a caring individual to join the team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic caring and committed catering assistant to work with us at CATERed to help provide award-winning meals in Plymouth.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm who is reliable and will be committed to their work as a catering assistant for the Community Meals Service based at The Rise at Plympton.

Training will be provided and daily tasks will be varied but will include table service to the residents of The Rise during the lunch time service.

Other duties will include assisting with the preparation, cooking and packing of hot freshly cooked meals for clients (elderly or in need) ready for collection by community meals drivers who will then deliver them to the clients’ home.

The roles (under the community meals service structure and grading) are: -              

Kitchen assistant (Grade B)
              
To assist in the preparation of food ensuring health, safety and hygiene legislation and regulations are followed at all times.

Please note this position is not suitable for job share.

The Disclosure & Barring Service Check requirement for this post is: Enhanced Check + DBS Children’s Barred List (previously known as CRB Check)

On occasion there will be a requirement for applicants to be called upon for holiday and sickness cover within the unit if you work on bank holidays this will be paid at the enhanced rate of time and a quarter.
