Senior Events Officer

 

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to help shape the future of major live events in Britain’s Ocean City as part of the team at Plymouth City Council.

 

You’ll get to enjoy an amazing quality of life by the sea in the home of the UK’s first National Marine Park.

 

You’ll join a high performing team responsible for delivering events of all scales and sizes including global sporting events and signature events attracting in excess of 50,000 people.

 

The role will strategically contribute to the city’s Visitor Plan and Culture Plan and will programme and create event content working with multiple partners and stakeholders including the military, cultural organisations and promoters.

 

You’ll be responsible for the safe delivery of events and compliance with relevant legislation & guidance including acting as Senior Officer on site for safety purposes and decision making.

 

You’ll work in close partnership with one other Senior Events Officer and will manage a small team of Events Officers.

 

We are looking for a proven and qualified events professional with considerable experience in managing outdoor events with attendances in excess of 20,000 people.

 

You’ll be enthusiastic, self-motivated, exceptionally well organised and a brilliant communicator.
