N635 Senior Business Analyst - Role Profile

You’ll work collaboratively with service and data owners and our IT providers, Delt Shared Services, to ensure the right GIS solutions are in place and that the new capability is fully utilised to improve the way we work.

Main Responsibilities

To work closely with the Digital Programme Manager to plan and execute the GIS project aligned with Plymouth City Council’s Digital Plan.

Co-ordinate the identification and collection of spatial data, and produce a corporate policy for the ongoing governance of this data.

Identify GIS integration opportunities and develop council wide use of spatial and address data.

To manage implementation of the ArcGIS product.

To plan and facilitate an evaluation process for a desktop GIS solution.

To lead and facilitate a joined up approach across the organisation in relation to use of geospatial data.

To establish and develop effective working relationships with data owners across the organisation.

Co-ordinate the identification and collection of spatial data, and produce a corporate policy for the ongoing governance of data.

Identify GIS integration opportunities and develop council wide use of spatial and address data.

Actively participate in the coordination and delivery of other Plymouth City Council projects and activities as required.

Our ideal candidate will:

Be informed and credible in talking to stakeholders about the benefits of digital, data and technology in improving public services.

Have experience in managing agile technology projects involving multiple teams and/or organisations.

Enjoy problem-solving in new, complex and sometimes ambiguous environments where creativity and pragmatism are required.

Be a clear and articulate communicator, both in writing and in person.

Be comfortable working in a small and fast-moving team, managing a mixed and varied workload, and responding effectively to the needs of a range of stakeholders.

Have an awareness of information management principles, including those relating to data matching, open data and data protection.

Be committed to continual learning.

Experience in GIS, information analysis or a similar field is desirable.

This role is suitable for flexible working subject to the needs of the service.
