N814 Transport Planning Officer - Role Profile

If you’re ambitious, highly motivated and want to support Plymouth becoming greener as we grow, some exciting opportunities exist in delivering Transforming Cities Fund (TCF) projects.

SP&I are leading one of the most ambitious transport investment programmes Plymouth has ever seen. Between now and March 2023 over £51 Million will be invested in Sustainable Transport projects and initiatives including supporting walking, cycling and public transport. This is a top priority for the department through to 2023, and we need more help to get it delivered.

The TCF programme, ‘Productive Plymouth’, is all about: - Transformative Infrastructure – delivering a step-change in our sustainable transport offer through improved door-to-door connectivity, providing quality infrastructure that delivers a viable alternative to the private car, and clear information to keep the traveller informed. -Innovative Technology - encouraging the use of new and innovative technology and new mobility systems to provide cleaner transport, enhanced accessibility to active travel modes and to manage transport demand. - Effective Behaviour Change - integrating transport measures and effectively managing travel demand through the application of policies that discourage single occupancy car community alongside targeted fiscal based management strategies in major employment locations.

You would be working full time within the Strategic Transport Team and alongside the TCF Programme Director and TCF Programme Coordinator to deliver exceptional schemes in the TCF Programme, and ensure that the programme boosts the productivity of the Plymouth City Region, enables equality of access and improves the health of our communities.

The post will require strong interpersonal skills, good attention to detail and self-motivation.
