Senior Technical Accounting Officer - Role Profile

Plymouth City Council are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated candidate in a full time role of Senior Technical Accounting Officer within the Capital and Treasury Management team.

The post holder will be a key member of the team working closely alongside the Principal Technical Accountants and will be involved in duties involving work on major capital projects within the city, attending programme board meetings and also working closely with project officers to support the delivery of our complex capital programme. They successful candidate will also be required to work on capital financing and monitoring of capital grants, S106 and associated work on treasury management borrowing and treasury management budget monitoring linked to the Council’s Medium Term Financial Plan. The Capital Programme is delivering over £120m a year investment into the growth of the City of Plymouth.

The candidate will play a key role in the year end capital processes which includes providing accurate closing capital projects information and to provide information for the statutory accounts and financial statistical returns. The post holder will be preparing capital reports, capital dashboard and presenting to the various capital project meetings as required.
