Electoral Services Officer Role Profile

The City of Plymouth is committed to compiling a complete and accurate Register of Electors, conducting and planning effective and efficient elections whilst improving service and quality standards and value for money.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Electoral Services Division to join a team currently preparing for the annual canvass.

The role will require you to provide a professional service to the public, councillors, government departments, local authorities and colleagues within the council on all matters relating to electoral registration, elections and referendums, including preparing and maintaining an accurate register of electors.

You will assist in delivering key aspects of the planning and conduct of elections in accordance with relevant work packages, being wholly accountable for the quality and timelines of the products.

We are seeking to appoint a candidate with at least 3 years’ experience of working in an electoral services environment and who holds, or is working towards the AEA certificate.

You must have good working knowledge of Electoral Services processes and the legal framework surrounding electoral functions. You must also have experience of project management, data analysis and have exceptional organisational skills.
